Lluvià House (Villa Emília)

Manresa

Its design was commissioned to the architect from Manresa, Ignasi Oms i Ponsa, who directed the works during the year 1896. The main building is a stately house of rural residential character, surrounded by fields and forests. It is a square-plan building composed of three parts: the central body, three stories high with an octagonal tower, and the side wings, attached to the main structure, which are two stories high.

The building maintained agricultural and recreational activity until the mid-20th century. From then on, the property changed ownership repeatedly. This contributed to the deterioration of the architectural complex due to a lack of maintenance. The City Council acquired the building at the beginning of 2012, in a ruined state. During 2014 and 2015, restoration works were carried out so it could become a tourist attraction and an interpretation center for the Green Ring of Manresa. Improvement works and space adaptation have continued in recent years, along with the first initiatives to replant vineyards and olive trees on the estate grounds.
