Old Justice Palace

Manresa

The old Justice Palace is an imposing monumental Baroque structure located on the street leading to La Seu. It was designed in 1661 and completed in 1671. The building consists of a main square-shaped body with two attached lateral wings. Its façade, arranged symmetrically with vertical windows and balconies, is the work of the renowned sculptor Francesc Grau, from the Manresan Baroque school. Over time, it has undergone several renovations, the most notable taking place in 1860, 1882, and 1979.

From the 18th century until 2009, it served as the city’s courthouse.

Currently, the building is undergoing remodeling works, which will include the opening of the Territorial Delegation of the Government in Central Catalonia.
