Convent of the Capuchinas

Manresa

The Convent of the Capuchinas in Manresa is a living testimony to nearly four centuries of the city's history.

Since its official foundation in 1638 on the initiative of Àngela Serafina Prat, the site has endured various vicissitudes —fires, exclaustrations, wars, and reforms— yet has managed to survive, adapting over time without losing its character or its patrimonial value.

The complex —which includes buildings and orchards on a plot of approximately 4,000–4,500 m²— preserves important architectural and historical elements, and represents a profound legacy in the collective memory of Manresa.

Although the religious community left the building in 2025, following the departure of the last resident nun, the convent continues to be considered a space of great value for the city, full of potential for future cultural, social, or community uses.
